Slowly, Slowly getting there

Well the deadline was yesterday, but I am still trying to finish the challenge.  Maybe today will be the day.  Only five more to go!  Here are Every Day in May sketchbook challenge, numbers, 22-26.
#26 A bench, oh well I sketched
while sitting on a bench!

Radio/ipod dock remote, very small

Yang the cuddle cat!

Play on words "sketch a fan" hmm I found
these Seahawks fans on the internet.

Im not sure I want a gardener as much as a weeder, but this was simpler to draw!

Five more sketches

Still trying to catch up.  I've been too busy the past few days to stay on top of the sketch challenge, but while recuperating from a lot of dental work today, I managed to get to day 16.  Only 4 days behind and working on it.
The fun part of these particular sketches; hiding the cookies from my husband so I could sketch them.  Sketching the succulents in the seashell in our sunny garden.  The bad part; overworking the juice glass.  I accept this minor defeat considering it a lesson learned!

EDIM Umbrella and Thumb

This was an interesting addition to the 30 day challenge, drawing an umbrella.  I had to wait till morning to raise the garden umbrella slightly to get some different undulations.  A straight out tight umbrella is hard to draw; all those ribs drive me crazy.  Interestingly, while sitting inside looking outside I got to enjoy the changing light and beautiful morning.  I kept telling myself, stop, its just about an umbrella, but everything else kept creeping into the picture.  Then, as you will see in a couple of days, I still couldn't stop and sketched most of the same scene for the shadows!

Thumbs are very funny looking on their own; mine looks very masculine as I can't keep my nails very long and refuse to have false nails applied.  The inside angle and soft pad add qualities that you don't normally concentrate on when you look at your thumb.  Take a look at yours.

Every Day in May 30 day challenge

Judi Nyerges has inspired me to catch up to making a sketch a day with a group called Every Day in May.  It's a 30 day sketchbook challenge. Last night I sketched four, sketches!

I also spent the afternoon having fun and making the album that will hold these sketches.
Here is the cover I am using.  It's a fun abstract painted on 140lb watercolor paper.  It measures about 5.75 x 7.75, and was applied to mat or tag board.  The inside cover is bright orange!  The next step is to protect the cover with a matte medium.
More tomorrow......
Day one:  Draw a window

Day two:  Draw a knife or a blade
